Eco Wood
Wood is a lovely natural material full of character and warmth, so it is a great shame that we tend to cover it with un-natural products that create false effects and often work against the wood. This seems to be working against the grain (to use a wood based metaphor!), so at the Eco Home Centre we sell and promote natural wood finishes. We therefore sell Osmo, earthBorn and Auro products.
For untreated wood we would generally recommend using Osmo products, but where wood already has a non-Osmo treatment on it then the waterbased earthBorn and Auro ranges come into play. For internal wood there are lots of different options and all the products here work really well, however there are some key areas where some guidance is needed, so:
VOC free requirement (asthma, ezcema sufferers etc) - use earthBorn ProAqua products
Door jambs (quick drying required) - use earthBorn ProAqua
External exposed woodwork - use Auro 935 (Orange Oil based paint) in conjunction with Auro 933 undercoat
Wood in direct sunlight where natural colour of wood required - use Osmo 410 (internal) or 420 (external) or the earthBorn ProAqua Clear Varnish
