Eco Devices

There are lots of devices that people are being encouraged to buy, but we need to be smart when we part with our money. A good understanding of what we are getting a why is required. Knowledge is power! Knowing how much electrical energy we are using at home is a great enabler. What better way of getting the message home to your partner / kids / parents etc than actually showing them how much they are using. This is where smart meters come into play. The Eco Home Centre recommends Efergy meters. Once one knows then you can start to take action. Reduce consumption is the best answer, but how? Using low energy lightbulbs is a great starting point, but all lightbulbs are not equal. For high quality light in key areas of the home use LED bulbs, for general lighting use Compact Flourescent Lights (CFLs). With CFLs and LEDs the choice does not stop there, for any again there are qualitative differences in manufacturers and ranges. This is why we only sell Megaman CFLs and LEDON LEDs. Boiling water basically takes the same amount of energy which ever kettle you use, however: Do you need to boil a whole kettle full and do you need the water to be 100 degrees centigrade? If the answer to one of both of these questions is no, then have a look at the Eco-Kettle range. They have a unique water reservoir that allows you to top up the boiling chamber with the amount that you need. The Eco-Kettle 3 also gives you a choice of three temperature settings for coffees, teas and infusions. Water is an oft overlooked resource, but not for much longer. The Eco Home Centre has retro-fit devices for taps and toilets that can reduce consumption by around 50%. So you can make your existing loo even more efficient than a new standard dual flush for a fraction of the cost. Draughts come in all shapes and sizes and one of the biggest ones is your letter box. Well this no longer has to be true with the Ecoflap. Un-used chimneys can also have draughts reduced by using a Chimney Cap.
