Lime paints are traditional paints made from lime putty. Historically limewash was used as a really good highly breathable exterior paint (and it can also be used internally). We supply Limewash / lime putty in 20l pots that need to be watered down to give 40l of limewash, so great value. Work on needing approx. 4 coats of limewash initially and needing to refresh with another coat every few years. A great and cheap way of painting that really compliments solid walled buildings.
Auro have created a modern take on the old lime wash. Their paint is much thicker and so only requires one or two coats. Leave white for external use, but it can be used to great effect on the inside as well. So effectively a great paint that you can use anywhere. If painting outside treat the stone / brick / render with a silicate primer first and then apply. If used internally it can be tinted and used just like any other natural wall paint.
Eco Home Centre has two main types of lime paint. Lime Wash supplied as a 20l Lime Putty that needs to be watered down 50:50, to give 40l of Limewash. This is white Birch LimeWash. This type of paint requires about 3 coats.
Auro Lime Paint is a lime paint that can also be used inside and out. If using outside no pigment can be added, but lime tolerance pigments can be used to tint internal use.
