Eco Home Centre believes that if you are fitting good quality windows, to reduce your carbon emissions and heating bills, then you need to ensure that the windows are fitted in an airtight, water-proof and insulating manner. Conventional fitting often does not do this in the long term (expanding foam and silicon sealants will crack and degrade over a period of a few years), so an alternative is required. Eco Home Centre recommends using Iso Chemie expanding window tape for this. If building a new home then other systems like the Pro-Clima can provide similar solutions and should also be explored.
